Which Mazda3 should you buy?

The Mazda 3 is a compact vehicle from Mazda that is offered in two body styles: a sedan and a hatchback, both of which offer you a choice of three engines, two transmissions and two drivetrains. This will help you choose the Mazda 3 that will best suit your needs.

Sedan or Hatchback?

The Mazda 3 offers you two body styles to choose from in order to best suit your lifestyle and your preferences. If you need a more practical car, the hatchback is the one for you, with its cargo area that can give you a capacity of 1,334 liters when the rear seat is folded. If you prefer a more traditional style, the sedan will be your best bet. In addition, both versions have their own personality, with the hatchback embracing a sporty image, with its black grille and surround in the front and darker wheels. On the other hand, the sedan adopts a more premium and sophisticated appearance, with chrome and polished metal inserts around the vehicle that make it look like a much more expensive car than it is.

6 Powertrain combinations

The 2022 Mazda 3 offers you many mechanical options to tailor the driving experience to the level of performance you want in your compact vehicle. The base engine is a peppy 2.0L Syactiv-G engine that can be paired with your choice of a 6-speed manual transmission for the most engaging experience possible, or a 6-speed automatic for the perfect blend of performance, fuel efficiency and convenience. If the 155 horsepower this engine produces are not enough for your tastes, the 2.5L engine is available and it brings the output up to 186 horsepower going through the automatic transmission. For the highest level of performance available, a turbo can be added the 2.5L engine to boost power up to 250 horsepower when using premium fuel or 227 on regular grade. This engine comes standard with the automatic transmission and the i-Activ all-wheel drive system, that is available with the other powertrains.
