Three Things That Make the 2020 Mazda CX-30 Standout from the Competition

The all-new 2020 Mazda CX-30 is entering a very competitive segment where there are more and more models, but more and more buyers as well. The subcompact or urban SUV segment is indeed flourishing at the moment and the new CX-30 is one of the most recent models to throw its hand into the fray.

With more competition comes more challenges to stand out. It was easy to sell a small SUV when there were two or three models in the segment, but now with almost 10 competitors, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 has to do more to stand out. Luckily for Mazda and for future CX-30 owners, it’s every clear where the new Mazda SUV differentiates itself from other urban utility vehicles.

It’s more fun to drive

Mazda is known for building cars that are fun to drive. Just because you have an SUV doesn’t mean you should compromise on pleasure. The new 2020 Mazda CX-30 is based off of the Mazda3 which is considered the sportiest compact on the market. The CX-30 is also considered the most dynamic and fun urban SUV available today. If you want the interior space of an SUV without sacrificing drivability, the CX-30 is a great option.

It has more power and better efficiency

Part of the Mazda CX-30’s sporty appeal is its engine lineup. For starters, it comes with two engines versus most of its rivals that only have one. The CX-30 GX is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder SKYACTIV engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. This engine out of the gate procuces more power than direct rivals like the Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V, Subaru Crosstrek, Nissan Qashqai and Toyota C-HR. That said, the GS and GT versions of the 2020 CX-30 come with an even more powerful 2.5-litre engine with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. Now we’re really talking. You won’t find a more powerful engine among CX-30 competitors, and it’s even more powerful than some larger compact SUVs.

Better yet, the CX-30 is one of the most efficient models in its class. With an average fuel economy rating of less than 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres and an average fuel consumption rating of just 7.4 liters per 100 kilometres on the highway with the most powerful engine and all-wheel drive, the CX-30 doesn’t compromise on efficiency to bring a lot of power to the table. The GT model even includes Cylinder Deactivation technology to make it that much more efficient.

It comes with a ton of equipment

Base CX-30 models come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, LED front headlights, and Mazda exclusive technologies such as G-Vectoring Control. The CX-30 starts at $23,950 while the GS starts at $26,650 with a ton of active safety features included as well as 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate, and available i-ACTIV AWD system. The top-of-the-line GT model comes with rear parking sensors, adaptive headlights, a BOSE system and satellite radio.

Combine all of these elements with impressive cargo capacity and a beautiful design considered to be best in the segment by the experts, and you have a lot of reasons to check out the 2020 Mazda CX-30 today.
