Mazda vehicles receive top safety grade from the IIHS

Every single 2021 Mazda vehicle received the highest grade from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in recent safety testing. Very few vehicles receive the TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation, and even fewer automakers offer a lineup where every vehicle received the coveted award.

In order to receive the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, a vehicle must receive the top performance grade in every test including moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests.

The IIHS also tests headlights and crash-avoidance technologies, and a vehicle must receive the highest grade there again in order to receive a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating.

“With safety a top priority for Mazda, we are proud to have every Mazda vehicle tested earn the coveted 2021 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. This accomplishment stems from our commitment to our owners,” said Mazda North American Operations President Jeff Guyton. “Our customers have come to expect Mazda’s dedication to providing advanced safety technologies paired with dynamic styling, which give them a confident and more enjoyable driving experience.”
