How the Mazda CX-5 Compares to the 2023 Honda CR-V

The Mazda CX-5 exudes sportiness and refinement in a segment where rivals compromise on style and performance way too much. Filled with technologies and practical versatility, the CX-5 leaps ahead of its rivals with better drivability and value in a capable compact SUV. The CX-5 recently received new exterior elements, improved vehicle dynamics, and standard AWD on every trim.

Here, we look at the updated CX-5 and how it compares to the 2023 Honda CR-V.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 delivers unparalleled performance

Under the hood, the CX-5 offers a choice of two powertrains that provide plenty of performance. This all starts with the 2.5 L four-cylinder engine that generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. It is mated a six-speed automatic transmission for ultimate drivability. The CR-V’s base option is a notoriously unreliable turbocharged 1.5 L four-cylinder that outputs similar amounts of power, but with less torque at 179 lb-ft of torque.

The CX-5’s turbocharged option is not only more reliable, it is also very powerful. The four-cylinder 2.5L engine generates up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

The CR-V does have a new 206-hp hybrid variant, but it has yet to see the light of day and time will tell if its reliability and overall performance are worth the higher cost.

All CX-5 models include standard AWD. However, AWD is not offered on all CR-V grades.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 offers a more refined driving environment

The CX-5 delivers a much bolder style than its rival, which is more of a copy of everything you will find out there in the compact SUV segment. Inside, the CX-5 uses only the best in terms of materials and textures, elevating the experience for the driver and passengers who benefit from maximum space and commodities. The CX-5 can easily compete with luxury crossovers, but at a much lower cost.

The 2023 CX-5’s engineering features enable it to offer a quieter cabin than the CR-V thanks to better frame rigidity, which reduces noise and vibrations.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is the compact SUV you need if you’re looking for a perfect balance between style, performance and refinement. Come see it today. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
