The Mazda CX-5 is powered by a choice of two engines. Four models include a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The CX-5 also has a turbocharged unit you can choose. This 2.5L four-cylinder turbo generates up to 250 horsepower and a road-gripping 320 lb-ft of torque.

The 2022 CX-5 is equipped with the latest iteration of the i-Activ AWD system, which is the best AWD system money can buy. The CX-5 also introduces Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive). This advanced driving mode system enables you to select the right mode with a touch of a switch.

The CX-50 will make these two engines available under the hood, along with i-Activ AWD as standard. But Mazda has also added that the CX-50 will add a hybrid powertrain in the coming years, making the CX-50 even more efficient.

The Mazda CX-5 is incredibly stylish, much more so than any of its rivals. Its luxurious lines combined with lighting elements and rich colour palette make heads turn everywhere it goes. Inside, Mazda has improved the CX-5's dynamics by redesigning the dampening control structure. The 2022 model also has a quieter cabin.

The CX-50 will get a few specific elements, like body cladding, higher ground clearance and a set of all-terrain tires.
