2022 Mazda CX-30 vs. 2022 Mazda3 Sport : Sportiness and Versatility

The Mazda CX-30 and the Mazda3 Sport have a lot to offer in terms of refinement and performance. But they also are value-packed vehicles with their own set of skills and particularities. The CX-30 offers a bit more ground clearance and passenger volume, while the Mazda3 perfectly pairs performance and efficiency in a sportier package. But both vehicles include Mazda’s best in terms of safety technologies and more.

Let’s see how both vehicles compare.

Similar performance, different options

In terms of performance levels, the Mazda CX-30 and Mazda3 Sport are very similar. The base engine in both vehicles is a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre unit that boasts 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Next, buyers can choose the 2.5-litre Skyactiv engine with 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. More performance can be found in the turbocharged 2.5-litre Skyactiv engine available with the CX-30 and the Mazda3 Sport. It provides up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of instant torque in both models.

The CX-30 uses a single 6-speed automatic transmission with all three engines. It is also mated to Mazda’s standard i-Activ AWD system and G-Vectoring Control Plus for improved cornering performance.

The Mazda3 Sport offers the same 6-speed automatic transmission, but also lets buyers choose the 6-speed manual for more control over the gear changes. The Mazda3 Sport is also offered in both FWD and AWD configurations.

With fuel consumption ratings of 8.7 L/100 km in the city and 6.4 L/100 km on the highway, the Mazda3 Sport uses a little bit less fuel than the CX-30.

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 both deliver great passenger and cargo space

Inside, the Mazda CX-30 delivers more passenger space than the Mazda3 Sport. However, while one could think that the CX-30 is roomier in terms of cargo volume, that’s not necessarily the case. With the seats up, the Mazda3 offers 569 litres of space. Fold the seats down and get 1,334 litres. In the CX-30, you’ll get 572 litres when the rear seats are up and 1,280 when they are folded.

The CX-30 is offered at a base price of $26,100, while the Mazda3 starts at $22,200. Come and see them today! You can also shop for your Mazda online with us, our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
