2021 Mazda CX-30 vs. 2021 Nissan Qashqai: Go More Places With the CX-30

The 2021 CX-30 is a refreshing take on new limits for a subcompact crossover. With sophisticated styling, available AWD, a powerful turbo option, and advanced technology throughout, there's really no need to buy a larger SUV.

The CX-30 has made plenty of noise in its class, especially with its great pricing and value. Here, we compare the CX-30 to the 2021 Nissan Qashqai.

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 brings driving fun to the wheel

The CX-30 offers three powertrains for 2021 and two more than the Qashqai. The base GX grade features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder that outputs a responsive 155 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain pulls ahead of the Qashqai's standard 2.0-litre that produces 141 horsepower.

The CX-30 GS and GT models include a 2.5-litre four-cylinder that increases output to 186 horsepower and torque to 186 lb-ft. Automotive enthusiasts will be happy to know that the CX-30 is available with a 2.5-litre turbo. With 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque under the hood, it's easy to have fun in the CX-30.

Every CX-30 features available (GX and GS) and standard (GT) i-Activ all-wheel drive – which is one, if not the best AWD system on the market. However, half of all Qashqai models do not offer AWD, which can be important for safety and performance in many situations and especially in the winter.

The CX-30 offers better power, performance, and drivetrain equipment than the 2021 Nissan Qashqai.

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 is recognized for safety

IIHS awards the 2021 CX-30 with its highest safety rating: 2021 Top Safety Pick+. Recognized for crashworthiness, crash avoidance and mitigation, and other safety features, the CX-30 provides a peace of mind. So, it's easy to get into a CX-30 and go to where you've always wanted.

Like all Mazda vehicles, the CX-30 offers a superior interior design assembled with upscale materials and textures that surpass anything the Qashqai offers. It also offers more rear leg room than the Qashqai, providing a more comfortable environment for passengers.
